a place for me to record events in my life.

this may or may not work. I’m attempting to embed a wavelet into this post. I found a plugin named “wavr” that will allow me to do that.

Edit: here is how you figure out the wave id

Reboot frozen iPod

I have a 5th generation iPod. It has “frozen” on me a couple of times. To reboot it, when it is “frozen”, just hold the center button and the menu button at the same time for approximately 3 to 5 seconds.

RPG and 5250 screens are like music CDs?

Posted by: Mark Fontecchio
IBM System i

The iDevelop blog has a recent post comparing the music industry to the IBM System i. In particular, it looks at how the reluctance of the music industry to embrace digital music — instead continuing to push CDs — is similar to System i end users’ reluctance to embrace PHP and other newer System i technologies, instead continuing to embrace green screens and RPG.

What do you think?

Free Redbox Rental Codes

Free Redbox Rental Codes
from Hey, It’s Free! by Goob

It’s not the first Monday of the month, but there’s a new free Redbox Rental code available! The code is 9HB6MP22 and looks to be working nationwide from what I can tell. I’m not sure where this code originated from, however, so there’s no telling how long it will last. In other words, I’m giving you permission to sneak out of work immediately and go rent a free movie. If your bosses catch you, tell them Goob said it’s okay and I’m sure they’ll understand.

There’s also another new free code, which is SMR8DVD, but this one only works at McDonald’s.

and jesus said “oh, snap!”

September 7th, 2009

another sign of the times: nick in tampa, florida says the sodas in his small office used to be free, but now they cost 50 cents. and yet, when they’re left out “unguarded and unsecured, naturally, people steal them,” nick says. eventually, one coworker thought instilling the fear of god would make for a good theft-deterrent…which inspired another coworker to quote scripture in protest of the new drink policy.

jesus is watching you steal diet cokes

wordpress_logo I was reading crackberry.com and noticed two little words there, “thanks acedanger” that linked to the request/feedback category on the WordPress for Blackberry forum.

If you read here at all, you may remember that I posted something about the app where, pointing out that you couldn’t paste a URL in the dialog box that appeared. Ranaan found my post and created a topic about the issue.

The paste URL issue was added to the last beta version of the software, version 0.9.0.134.

Contact form spam – wtf?

Since I had to reinstall my blog from scratch, I downloaded and installed a new contact form, Contact Form 7. Tonight, I’ve been getting spammed like crazy from it! I really like the simplicity of setting it up. It also provides a lot of flexibility. Due to tonights spam, I finally had to install a captcha system, Really Simple CAPTCHA.

I hope it stops this crap because it’s annoying as hell. My blackberry was going nuts!!
