Now my Vonage line almost works. I moved the phone adapter (Linksys RTP300) to the DMZ of my main router (WRT54GX4) mostly because I don’t know all of the ports that I would need to open up if I just wanted to forward ports. After reading a ton of reviews/posts about Vonage, I’m rather worried that I made a bad decision that will end up costing us more money to get back what we already had. Only time will tell, we’ll see.

We signed up for Vonage just before our Christmas vacation. I spent about an hour trying to set it up before we left. I was having mixed feelings about it but now, after I tinkered more with it last night, it is working a lot better! We can make and receive calls now! woo hoo! Only issue now it the static we hear from an incoming call. Hopefully that won’t take any time to fix…hopefully!

Last night I had to talk to my mom about her not coming here in January. It was a tough call but is the best situation for everyone. The timing just isn’t right after what happened or didn’t happen actually with Christmas. Hopefully some day it will all work out. Somehow I doubt it but we’ll see.

We had a wicked awesome time with Misty and Barry. There were others there besides them but Meri and I really like Misty, she’s our type of person. Very down to earth and not stuck up. She has a kid and knows how to behave that way. She’s not rude or immature or anything like that. She’s got my kind of “everything is a joke” personality. Barry seems like the kind of guy that will warm up to you once you get to know him. We both had a ton o’ fun haning out with other poeple tonight. It is always nice to get out and hang with people your own age.

Big ups to Terminix for throwing one hell of a shindig. Thanks Thomas for our drinks at Alfred’s and thank you live bands for providing much entertainment (Kannan got jiggy with that chic, whatsherface, you go boy, that shit was tight!) Yay, Month end is back on track! We’re starting all of the regular stuff tomorrow. Today has been a study day. I’m studying a group of functions that work as a web service. I have to copy/create a web service for my damage claim project. Things are going well so far.

Friday, December 2nd is the Terminix Christmas party. We got wrist bands and everything! They are give us free booze (2 drinks, woo hoo!, Meri will be wasted! Haha). It should be a lot of fun. It will be fun to see people outside of work with a few drinks in them so they will be a little more relaxed. We’ve got a baby sitter for Aaron and things are set. Yippee! We get to go out!
